Maria and Eduardo are two complete different characters that share a common interest in learning. Sometimes having the most superb education during k-12 years does not match the hard work that collaborates with college studies. Education is a valuable gift that means more to those of the less fortunate like Eduardo, while others that can have the highest education become nonchalant.

Eduardo was born in a urban area with a single mom while going to a public school. In highschool his education enthusiasm was not as strong as Maria’s, but going to college was a complete turn around for Eduardo. Eduardo cared more for his education and no longer looked at work as a downfall but a puzzle to connect. His engaging techniques were unique and different, sometimes when highschool students do not excel is just a breakthrough for a brighter future in a college. In Eduardo’s shoes, going to college is very expensive and cherishing every moment in college wold not only change his life but his mother’s lfe as well.

Maria was born on a silver platter, she had a stable household and her parents were together who were very wealthy to put her in a private school in which she excelled. Her studying techniques were more traditional; read, memorise and succeed in which she did. Transitioning to college her perspective was already tunneled in a certain way to succeed and therefor she didn’t excel in her work like Eduardo who came in with an open mind for new opportunities. As a culture shock for her, she finished off the semester with a C average which wasn’t her normal accademic abilities. When she realised her mistakes she changed her tunnel vision and eventually succeeded like Eduardo with different techniques to survive college in their own ways. Both Eduardo and Maria are very intelligent students.

Coming from different backgrounds can be an unpredictable message entering college where it’s a diversity of students and also different cultures. In college, everyone can find their true self, Maria 2 continued to become her high school study habits while Eduardo did enough to get by to graduate. Sometimes being smart in high school does not predict how well a person will be in college since there’s more freedom and opportunities to establish. Maria and Eduardo prepared for the future in different ways, they both had habits to polish up and get ready for the new world at hand. It’s not always about being the smartest person because that can get boring and predictable, Maria was a walking encyclopedia that couldn’t wait to learn more and impress the teachers in college. Eduardo went where the wind took him, he did what he needed to do to pass effectively and excelled at the same time Maria failed. Not saying being bright student in highschool will produce failure in college, but having a new mind and a new start is key to succeed in college. Leaving the past behind and starting fresh as a new student is as successful as it can get.
